Black History Month: Being Black and British: Windrush
This event will focus on Herman Williams Jr., who has since spent his time trying to bring justice for those involved in the Windrush scandal, as he seeks justice for the untimely death of his Father.

The story of Herman Williams Sr. focuses on a man who was one of the victims in the Windrush scandal. Brought to the UK to work and given citizenship, then were later told that they no longer had the right to be here. In 2018 he was due to be compensated suddenly passed away with no explanation from the police or health services.

Being Black and British will be a conversation based on Black experiences in the UK and the evident difference in privilege based on skin colour.
